Sounds like plenty of long runs this weekend in the rain for us, me included. I don’t mind it one bit but have noticed on longer runs, the rain does effect the shoes in terms of weight, flexibility/responsiveness.
I use MC shoes, Asics Foundation VI’s and have yet to test them in the rain. Used Addictions before and they seemed to get quite heavy w/ all the water.
I suspect this is not advantageous for those who need a shoe for stability/MC - the reasoning being a heavier shoe will take more effort from lower leg muscle groups which puts more strain on those vulnerable to achillies, et al issues, which tend to be those with stability/MC needs.
Anyone agree with this reasoning? Longest long run in the rain to date was only 13, been fortunate with the weather for runs longer than that, but its 20 this weekend.
Have a good run folks…
