am moving in the near future…and was wondering where people in racine swam? is there anything at Case high school? what good pools are open for masters swim?
also, any good rides that groups do?

Try Carthage College in Kenosha, they have a Master Group in the Evenings. Razor Sharp Fitness in Racine has a salt water pool, really nice. Or the YMCA in Racine.
Yes. The ones tharth said for the indoor pools. And in a about 3 months there is always Lake Michigan. But for those that can’t wait 3 months for some good open water swimming, there is the Quary off of Northwestern Ave. Its almost exactly 1/4 of a mile across (one way). And many triathletes use it because its shallow and inland so gets warm enough around Memorial Day.
For rides there is the Kenosha/Racine (or KR) Bike Club that have some good rides. KR Bike Club has a website with a calendar with when, where, and what along with some other stuff. www.krbikeclub.com
I am apart of the group uRATS which stands for unofficial Racine Area Triathlete Society. What makes it unofficial is we don’t have dues or positions. All we do is e-mail each other about when, where, and what training we are planning to do, and who ever shows up, shows up. Usually we get one to six show up, but going by yourself happens also. We are not fast, but we do what we can. We do have speciallist though in each sport though, and range from sprint distances, to ironman (for myself this year).
I belong out at Razor Shrarp, (across the street from Case High School) and they just started a Masters a couple of months ago. Because of the cost (on top of membership) I don’t go. 5 times a week I think, Mon Wed Sat mornings and Tues Thrus night.
The pool is short (20 meters) but its a salt water pool so you don’t stink of chlorine which is nice.
