Race in Phoenix this weekend?

I’ll be visiting this weekend. Are there any races?

If not - any good places to run? 5-8 miles.

There are a ton of trails at S. Mtn. There are canals everywhere to run along. Mummy Mtn has a nice trail network.

To know where you are staying at would be helpful so idon’t send you driving 40 min each way for a 60 min run.

Sorry that took so long.

Just found out. We’ll be in Scottsdale near the “Biltmore” area. Not sure if I have the geography perfect, but there is a canal with a nice trail behind the house we’re staying in. Any suggestions???

I would recommend Camelback Mountain. Start at the trail head on the North side of the mtn, go up an over the top and down the back side will take you out on Inverness Road. It is about a 3 mile jog back to the trailhead.

There are also good trail runs at 32nd Street & Lincoln (very close to where you are staying) that take you into the Phx Mtn preserve - you can run all day through there.

Jason the Biltmore is Central to East Phoenix - not Scottsdale. If you’re are indeed staying near the Biltmore there is a canal right there ( you can’t miss it ) - you can take it east all the way past Tempe / over 15-20 miles worth of running. If you like trails there is Squaw Peak Mountain right there with 6+ miles of trails.

There is also Camelback Mountain on 44st North of Camelback.

I’m in Phoenix as we speak about to jump on a plane to Kona or i would run w/ you.

I trained at the Biltmore daily. There is a 2 mile loop around the Biltmore w/ some of the most beautiful homes AZ has to offer. There is a Running Store called Runners Den on 16th street and Maryland ( in between Bethany Home and Glendale ) less then 2 miles from the Biltmore.
