R4 products Fixie , any feedback?

I’ve embraced the local bike scene and I’ve been scouting for a project Fixie. I turned up one of these on ebay for $150. Somebody tell me they are junk so I won’t be tempted.

it’s a shitty hi-tensile steel frame (not chrome-moly), and those wheels look like they weigh a ton, so it’ll be on the heavy side and not particularly smooth riding. But for $150 - go ahead. It would make a nice beater / commuter.

I don’t know, to me, that extra 2lbs of frame sort of defeats the purpose of a fixed gear bike. It should be simply, but light and nimble.

I don’t know. Will pedals “with toe close” turn my feet into flippers and make me a better swimmer?
