Quick poll - where should I bike during Easter?

Alright, let’s say I theoretically wanted to go south from Toronto to find somewhere to bike hard for three days over the Easter Weekend.

Where should I go to find: a) no snow, b) warm enough for shorts, c) good roads to bike on?

I’m looking for any recommendations! (and offers of free accomodation, of course!)

Only restriction - driving time less than 12 hours.

I’ll second that request. I could use a similiar spot for that week.

How fast do you plan to drive? I say Key West.

Hmmm: 3000 km, 12 hours: 250 kph

No problem. My 8 year old Civic should have no problem with that!

Of course, to be realistic, I should really pull out my Ferrari for that kind of trip - but I wouldn’t want to get it dirty. And if I really wanted to make good time, it might be better to fly my F-16 but it’s such a pain to get out of storage and book the flight path. Plus, the Yanks get all uppity about people flying in their airspace. You know - all those terrorists coming from Canada!

or North Carolina
.

I’ll third that request for info. I was thinking the North Carolina coast (ie Kill Devil Hills/Myrtle Beach)

Keep driving past the Detroit area cuz the weather stinks around here.

45 degrees for 2 days then it’s going down to the teens for the next couple.

I am sure the Easter bunny could use some help delivering those chocolate eggs. Onehelluva long ride though.

Come to Maui, You can get a $536 round trip fare from Buffalo.

Best choice, the Easter Hill Country Tour based in the hills near Austin and San Antonio Texas. Three to five days of easy to very challenging rides each day from around 30 miles to 100 miles. Thousands of cyclists, fantastic scenery, negligible registration feesclean nice camping facilities, inexpensive lodging, great food, wonderful people, and a lifetime of great memories. Check out their website—and get there. You’ll be glad you did.

well, I think you should ride to the easter bunny’s house and enjoy a lunch of jelly beans and old fashioned peeps. that would be a perfect day!
