Quick poll: favorite sleeveless wetsuit

i think my choices are going to be an xterra ventilator, orca speedsuit, and the QR ultrajohn. let’s assume all fit pretty well (big assumption, but due to time contraints i can’t try each on). let’s also assume i’m getting an unbelievable deal on any of them, so $$ isn’t an object. any info is appreciated!

I swim in an Aquaman sleevless suit because:

  1. I’m a short fat guy
  2. It was on sale when I got it
  3. It fits great (very important)
  4. The arm openings are much bigger than other wetsuits I’ve seen and I don’t rub the inside of my arms against the suit.

Xterra, Orca and QR are great suits too.

I’ve tried many different wetsuits including ORCA and Ironman and none are as comfortable as my Nineteen.

same fit, same price, which do you go with?

What about Aqua Sphere ? No one talks about them… :frowning: I bought one yesterday(fall model) from swimoutlet.com… Hope they fit well on me.

Nineteen has come out with a new sleeveless suit for 2005, the Riptide sleeveless. It will be on the site soon. If you can, you should check it out…

i would be surprised if they fit exactly the same… but if they do and are the same price… then flip a coin…

You didn’t mention De Soto but I have one and love it. I’ve never tried another sleeveless, and I like this one so much I probably never will.

de soto tres, no contest. ironman next. not impressed with hwy 19 and i would not wait for zoot. orca customer serivce is a joke.

if you want a onepeice full suit aquaman is the way to go.

I also like the Nineteen. Not sure which model it is and its not close to me so I can check now.

Swim tested Orca and QR but they both seemed to have more material above the shoulder, restricting reach. Fits me well under the arms too, no gaps. Would be nice to have a zipper that opens up like the QR though.

Like a bike, a fitter at the store makes a differnece. Someone who can adjust it and show you how to get in back to that position when you put it on in a rush.
