I have been thinking about racing in a one piece tri swimsuit for timberman half but im a little concerned about chaffing the inside of my legs … i havent noticed that they rub while i run but i dont know what will happen over a few hours and also i havent tried biking for too long with one for more than an hour … has anyone raced a half with one … any bad experiences?
I really think it depends on the person and their build. I have no problem racing in the tri swimsuit, I wore one for IMAZ, but I have a friend that chaffed terribly. I would say if you want to try it have bodyglide available in T1 and T2, just for safe measures and no this doesn’t cause your legs to stick together!
If you haven’t tried training in a tri swimsuit, I wouldn’t wear it on Sunday! I am definitely one to stick by the manta of “nothing new on race day”. Personally, I still with tri shorts and a tri top.
BODY GLIDE!!
I tried running in anything other then Tri shorts…they creep up, I chafe, it’s a crappy way to run 21.1K.
Biking, didn’t notice much chafing but…try it before you do it.
BODY GLIDE! Firm believer in the product.
Just make sure you wash what ever you get after every use.
um … im CERTAIN that i would never wear any bike/race clothes more than once without washing them … I think your post on that was pretty disturbing and I hope you have either moved on or taken sac’s advise to wash before you eat.
Nothing new on race day… not shoes, not clothing… it’s not your birthday ya know
you would not be a good coach for me. Race day is all about fashion for me, which means something new and HOT!
Wait, wait… if it’s HOT I might make an exception…
When it comes to womens clothing, less is more.
This is also a good product.

I agree! Usually a cute little top works wonders as a morale boost…(or at a minimum new socks for longer races). Ditto job interviews - always wear something new.
As to the original question, I only go 2 pce for long course so when it comes time to do a #1 or a #2, I have no clothing problems. I chafe pretty good on the thighs (mumma-chumba-wumma thighs), so I’d never consider anything but tri shorts.
