Hey Gerard, sweet looking fork. The dropouts look ridiculously aero, but are they doing to work with a standard Yakima roof rack? Or do I need another way to transport my new bike?
Thanks,
-Colin

Inside the car buddy.
A P3C can do a lot of things, but sit on your roof is not one of them.
I know, I know. But the bike isn’t going to fit inside my little civic for the 850 mile drive to IMFL.

850?
Holy Crap! You get to be an Ironman just for that.
Duuude,
You’re going to put that fork on a roof rack? My rack is reserved for mine and my girlfriend’s mountain bike. The carbon road rockets are too nice for that!
P.S. I have no solution to your Civic issue… I drive a Sentra and have the same issue… Although it helps that my sweetie has an SUV
I know why you want the Cervelo on the roof rack, it’s like having that Mercedes Star on the hood of a car
.
at least put a hitch and a hitch mount rack on it. protect your bike a little from road debris…
but dude I admire you.
high end bike low end car my kind of guy:-)

Or get something like this (you can cut holes in it for the aerobars to poke through). I also have a hatchback (VW GTI) and putting a bike out back would be the worst place I can think of for road dirt; note how dirty the back window gets.
Those things are nice for keeping the bugs off, but they really act like a sail while driving. Talk about plummeting gas milage!!
I’ve still got caked-on bug on the head tube of my road bike from several drives across the country. When the P3C gets here, I’m thinking about wrapping all the tubes in some sort of foam to keep the worst of the bug debris off.
Anyway, does anyone know about the fork?

Get a box that mounts on your roof rack. Put all your gear and stuff in the box. The p3 belongs inside the car!
What makes you think you will have your P3C in time for IMFL?
Rent a car that the bike will fit in. It’s cheaper (not putting miles on your car, wear and tear, etc.) and if you break down you should be able to have a replacement vehicle in short time.

I think the dropouts will work, what is your concern? The fit between the Yakima QR and the dropout, or something else?
I put my bike inside my Mini, so I am not sure why it wouldn’t fit inside a Civic, but anyway. The only Wolf TTs I have seen on a roof rack are on top of Team CSC’s cars, but they have special racks so that may not help you much. And I would agree with the hitch-mounted rack suggestion, we have had dozens and dozens of people who have driven their car into a garage with the bike on the roof, it seems sooner or later it will happen to everybody. Doesn’t really matter to me, I’ll sell you a new one, but I am sure you’d be annoyed to say the least.

-C Don’t your seats fold down in the Civic or are you carrying too many passengers? I did the drive from southern Ontario to Panama City leaving Tuesday afternoon and arriving 23 hours later on Wednesday prior to IMFL in 2003. I raced Saturday, went to the awards the next night and drove back home another 23 hours as soon as the awards were done. Talk about a week of being tired and a lot of Red Bull at 4am on my drive home! I took the wheels off of my bike and put everything in the back of my car (it is a Taurus wagon so it is larger) but I was travelling with my wife and two children.
You got all the stuff for your family AND your bike in the car? That’s impressive. Yes, the seats fold down in the civic, but my girl and I are going to FLA for a week, and with her stuff, my extra wheels, trainer, tools, etc, there is definitely not going to be room inside the car.
