bump… I am wondering the same thing. Happens to me too…
Sorry but I don’t have an answer for you two.
I do have a question. What do you mean you feel dehydrated?
Is your weight lower?
You feel thirsty?
If you feel thirsty even though you are drinking enough fluids it MIGHT be worth seeing if you have diabetes. That is one of the symptoms.

From what I’ve read it’s possible in the short term, that is if you get dehydrated and then drink lots of fluids in a short period of time, you can end up with clear urine but still be dehydrated. However, my understanding is that if over the long haul your urine is straw-colored or clearer it’s pretty good indicator you’re adequately hydrated.
How do you feel dehydrated? Are you thirsty? Drop in body weight out of sync with net energy balance?
dry mouth, thirst and a headache. Does not seem to change with weight fluctuations.

Agree with Wayne. I drink a lot of fluids and pretty much always have clear urine, except after really hard training events or races. I use a Tanita Ironman scale that shows total body water percentage and find this to be a much more accurate indication of hydration status.
I also use the scale, and I am certain that the body fat function is not accurate and I just assumed the hydration would also be inaccurate. I am usually around 67-68% (I am a male).

The absolute number is not accurate, agreed, but I’m very much convinced that the relative changes in the various values is meaningful. When well hydrated, I’m around 73-75% water. Less than 70% and I’m dehydrated.
I’ve often felt this way - especially after flying or traveling to a higher elevation. All the symptoms of dehydration but drinking lots and peeing clear.
I wish I understood what was going on but what has generally worked to solve this for me is to drink a couple litres of a sports drink with sugar in it. It’s almost as if this get “absorbed” better and doesn’t just go right through me.
Good luck!

The problem is that you probably have been drinking water to hydrate. You should never drink water when you’re dehydrated, because it just goes through you and does not hydrate you.
Actually I have been taking enduralites throughout the day with my water, and there has been no change.
are you taking any medications?
how much water are you drinking?
I take protonix and some vitamins. I drink about two nalgenes a day plus what I drink during and post workout.
Two Nalgenes doesn’t seem like that much. I think I drink almost that much before lunch. Of course, I have had a bad tendency to not drink enough water in the past (and some days I drank none at all) so I’m really on top of it now.
What are the possible side effects of Protonix?Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Other less serious side effects are more likely to occur, such as:
nausea, vomiting;
gas, stomach pain;
diarrhea; or
headache.
Doesn’t sound like your med is the problem except possible the headache. How big are the nalgene containers?
34 oz. each, and I tend to hydrate well during workouts.
Do you have an office job or do you sweat all day outside?
For training purposes,. two Nalgene’s of water per day is not enough to keep your hydration level at an acceptable level. Assuming you are a normal guy weighing, say 170 lbs, you would need almost 90 ounces of water per day. So, in essence, you’re about one Nalagene bottle per day short.

I have an office job. I drink about 60 oz at work, then if you add what I drink at home I would say I am still a bit short of 90 oz (140 lbs), if you don’t count the water drank during my work outs and immediately following.
Hyponatremia comes to my mind - you mention you are drinking lots of water both before and imply during workouts. Are you taking in any electrolytes? If not you could be low in sodium. Certain medications also cause frequent urination. Headache is a symptom of hyponatremia as well as a side effect of your Protonix. To be safe you should speak to your Dr.
