Anybody know if this race is going this year? I can’t find any online info about it…
Any other half-iron races on the South Island? Seems to be all Oly, Sprint and Aquathlons from what I can find on the web…
Was thinking of doing the Auckland Half if Queenstown is a no go… but I’ll be based in ChristChurch in January… anyone know the cheapest way to get there for it?
Hi Greg, the Queenstown Half is a great event but is not promoted strongly. It is run by the Southland Tri Club. It is usually held the last weekend of January, next year I think it will be on the 31st but that is a pure guess!! No other Halfs in Sth Island unfortunately.
The cheapest (and easiest) way to get down to Qtown from ChCh is to drive. If you get in touch with me when you arrive in ChCh I will help you get a lift down. I’m not going this year as I’m doing the Speight’s Coast to Coast the next weekend. Am also doing IMNZ so if you are looking for a training partner?
