Yes, positive, but there are no short cuts with them. Be prepared to work if you follow their plan(s), you will see improvement. Which coach?

Highly recommend Qt2. I’ve been a member for two seasons and each year, I’ve seen improvements. Plans are designed based on your schedule and availability. Most of their training is based on heart rate zones. If you’re a power/ pace guy,it will take some adjusting ( more mentally).

They are really good, thorough.

Somebody mentioned not being able to take shortcuts. I’m sorry but that’s training! No wonder coaches are doing so well. If you’re paying someone else to organize your workouts and read your workout data for you, then you should probably do the workouts. SMH.

it is a lot of bricks and aerobic work compared to others. very effective. light on the swimming. do it.

Most plans and coaches are effective as long as you follow the plans. With QT2 just be ready to put in tons of work, its not the kinda of plan that would work for me but it seems pretty effective for others. I had a friend using one of there lower tier plans and unless he upgraded to a better plans they would not give him workouts with power everything was by HR: maybe that has changed.

I’m a happy camper. I’ve been a one on one athlete for 2 years and have had 2 great seasons! All around awesome program.

Both wife and I are with QT2 Systems, I am a Mission Plan athlete and she is a coached runner with your26.2, sister company.
Wife is a late comer to running, no endurance sports background, 3 marathons with them, 2x BQ-12min, 3rd at Boston this year at BQ with headwind 20mph entire time.
I have been with them for a year. After a 5 year plateau went flat HIM in 4:36, 3min PR and had 2015 IMCDA PR 6min PR in 108F vs 2014 in moderate weather with another coach.
Lots of hard work and very very long weekends. It is a good old fashioned aerobic endurance based work, no shortcuts, no gimmicks.

I think they are even lighter on the running than they are on the swimming. I’ve never been with QT2 but have friends who are and I was really surprised at how little running they did prepping for full-IM’s. But definitely a lot of bricks.

Do people really pay $350-$435 per month for tri coaching?

Am I not the only one that finds that laughably absurd?

Isn’t their fee per 4 weeks, so you actually pay 13x that per year not 12.

Do I remember right you being with EN at some point or I am mixing you up?

The basic level isn’t $350-$435 a month…

If you do a Mission Plan it is $155 a month basically, about $5 a day. It’s a customized plan with daily workouts, plus you have access to coaches to ask questions.

its ludicrous in my head.

No more absurd than someone paying $5K for a bike.

What do you think a fair hourly rate would be for a coach?

Yes people pay that, some even more. Might be absurd to you, but to others it might be a pennies, or maybe they value that relationship that much.

Yeah IMO those are premium prices, where I work those fall in line with our monthly prices but at the top level. Does everyone buy that? No, do some, yep. Is the value worth the price? Well considering they keep paying and coming back I would say yes.

Well played.
Unless I’m wrong Bobby doesn’t really follow the training plan but sticks around for the community. That seems an absurd price to chat online with people, but maybe that is just me.

If you are a lawyer billing 700 an hour with big tri ambitions, it is money well spent. Alas, I am not, but I used their Mission Plan for 130 a month and won my AG in IM after never using a coach and getting 4th,5th,6th,and 8th in previous races. I have zero idea how it compares to other coaches, but I liked it. It looked ez on paper but was hard as hell.

– totally, goes back to my theory that following any thought out plan is better then following no plan, my training partner used them for a yr and i had individualized coaching for a yr, i took off and he did ok. This yr he switched away from them and took off, now i kinda wished he has stayed with QT2 since he ages up to me AG in 2016. Those high volume workouts of qt2 some people will respond really well to why others will not everyone is so individual, but it has worked out rather well for you so thats pretty cool! I do love chasing down QT2 people in races though when i can
