Vincent might hold back ‘cause he promised GTB a diamond bracelet if he got on the podium..![]()
I saw that on the video, think it costs more than the winners purse too!! I wish their race last weekend was another week in the rears, they both had really great splits, and in the heat too. But 6 days after an a half could be too much to ask for 100% freshness, but we will see…
The problem is that most people have to work on Friday morning. It would be fine if the race was on a Saturday or Sunday, and I could just wake up and watch the next morning (West Coast US). So people need to wait perhaps 24 hours until they have time to watch the race on the weekend. This is planned terribly if you want a global audience to have a decent chance to watch it live or shortly after the event.
Yes but does watching it live really matter anymore? Is a live hit worth more than someone watching it the next day anymore? I live same zone as you and I must confess that I will get up very early and watch, fast forwarding through some of the bike section, to get the total time manageable. Then get on with my Friday with just a few hours less sleep…
Right. I’m OK with not watching live. But people like me who have to be off to work early on Friday have to wait quite a while to have a chance to even fast forward/watch. That’s the problem with the race being on a Friday in the middle east. So easily avoided by not having the season ending Championship be on a Friday.
Bookies still not taking bets, they have completely lost interest in triathlon, you would think the amount of Brit women involved give them interest.
Almost impossible to avoid spoilers on social media also, its usually the first thing that will pop up, as soon as I open Facebook or Instagram.
Looks like its just going to be Frodo on the mic today?
I think there’s been a drop off in the quality of videos leading up to race day. Either that or there’s just not much content to vary across 8/9 races. There’s also been a noticeable cutback in the broadcast team compared to before when there were 3 in the panel and 2 on the field.
Swim starting to string out now they’re through half way (looks a little slow too, so think it’ll string out even more on the 2nd lap). Derron 36’s back at halfway.
GTB in that front group, interesting!
Splits coming out the Aussie exit, no spits as they make their way out of T1!
Kate Waugh dropped the hammer in transition and the start of the bike!
This will be Derron’s race with Findlay and Simmonds pulling her in front.
And Lucy dropped another bottle. Really hard to understand why, after Kona, she still isn’t using rubber bands to secure her bottles like other athletes.
Managed to get this on my tele, so no need for the running commentary, will just update with splits..
Maybe it’s the triathlon version of using banana skins!
Is it my lack of sleep, or did they just confuse Lawrence for Learmonth taking the lead in the splits?
