For 3 km averaging around 52 kph. How many seconds (or fractions of a second) would the same rider arrive earlier to the finish line if riding a P3T instead of a P3SL “naked” (as in below)?
Thanks.

Based on the field testing I’ve done comparing a P2T and a P3T (at/near 0 deg of yaw), my answer would be “no more than 2.4 s”.
How much less would depend on how much benefit you ascribe to the aluminum P3’s curved seat tube and aero seat stays versus the P2T’s straight and round ones, respectively. (Cervelo used to have data on their website that would address this question, but I don’t recall the details, and it was averaged across multiple yaw angles anyway.)

2.4 s is a huge difference in a Pursuit. Many bike lengths at that speed. I was not expecting it to be that much. I was expecting maybe 1.5 s at the most. The race will take place in an an indoor velodrome, I am not sure what yaw angles are involved in this scenario.
The forks are very different also. It seems to me that the 3T fork is much more aero than the Profile fork we had to use to accomodate for the 1" headset. I guess he will just have to padal faster than his team mate using a P3T at the Pan Ams.
Thanks Andy, your expert help is always appreciated.

is the reynolds ouzo pro aero legal for this use?
if you can find a used one with 1" it is very very fast
also there is that steel “MDT” fork
maybe not uci legal though
