I have raced there twice. SHitty town, great oceans, great food. One year the race course was under construction during the event, lots of drafting, got into a fight with a mexican who thought it was funny to pass me a beer (filled with water…WTF) after I threw the bottle at him. Hot, humid, hard.
The best post race party I have ever been to, free shrimp, free beer, naked girls, cool resort. As far as night life is cncerned, keep your wallet close. lots of people get robbed there.

OLAY.
WOW Hot Sun- fighting - beer - naked girls and drafting .
Can I just do an Aqua bike.
Running might wear me down too much for all this excitment.
See you there WOLF .
I raced there last April and had a blast. Construction on the bike course is finished and the run course is along the golf course cart path. The finish line party is awesome. FREE beer and food! Doesn’t get much better than that. As for the city, I have been going to Rocky Point for years and have a special appreciation for it. If you’re looking for a pristine town to go along with your beach…go to Hawaii.
OMG…the memories! As a student at ASU, Rocky Point was my first-ever oly tri back in 1998. My girls and I used to go several times a semester just to camp on the beach, eat bean tortillas from the ladies selling on the beach in the morning, and chill. When I said I was gonna try a tri, they came to “support” me, but when I finished the race, they were nowhere to be found. I wandered over to the nearest bar, and the table was completely covered with empty beer cans (yes, cans). Most fun I’ve ever had. Even got a wooden hammerhead shark as the award.
Go pitch a tent on the beach (the real kind!) and make it a low-pressure, fun weekend. If there’s still an old man working as a security guard at the campground on the beach, tell him that Amy says hi to her “abuelito!”

If you havn’t been to rocky point in 11 years you are in for a big suprise. Sandy beach isn’t what is used to be.
Dude, don’t kill my memories.
I am sure it’s way different now. So sad. Must find another small Mexican town to infiltrate…
