A question for the crew. Has anyone tried the Profile-Design Tri-Stryke saddle, and what are your comments on it. I know that saddles are a personal preference, and are suited to the individual, but would appreciate your opinions .
I have a one sitting on my work bench, used it last season for racing but decided to switch things around this year. I like the saddle as far as comfort on short rides but on long rides in the aero position I had the numbing thing going & decided it was time for a change. Also, the nose seems to be kind of wide which caused me to move my knees out on the up stroke. Swiched back to my Koobi and haven’t had a problem since. New koobi on order and it should be here today!
Got mine mid last year…not ever changing! I have tried almost all the brands out there and finally settled on the Profile…it gives me (again here everything is personal preference) the right amount of cushioning when aero and with it’s somewhat narrower profile overall, it keeps me from pinching my pirformis and irritating it.
It does take a tiny bit of “breaking in” around the cutout area but once that softens up a bit everything was great. I can honestly say that I was able to stay in the aero position for almost the entire ride at IMFL…
Any specific questions, let me know …I love the saddle!

I just got it and well quite frankly I don’t find any more comfortable than my previous saddle. I like my brothers stock saddle on his P3C better.
I like this saddle very much. I use it on both my road and tri bike. I find it very comfortable sitting upright, and more comfortable than specialized body geometry saddle, selle san marcos, and fizik arione that I tried previously. To each his own though.
Have it and love it. Not as nice looking as I’d like, but, hey, I can’t even see it when I’m using it…
I’ve had it for a little while now and have found that it’s taking a little while to break in (someone else mentioned the cutout area). I’m getting to the point now where it’s pretty comfortable (this is on the trainer also…it’ll be much better on the road). I would say that it’s definately worth the $$ - give it a go.
I have it and love it like many others here. I previously had an Aspide Tri gel, Arione Tri, and an SLR (regular version). The Tri-Stryke is by far the best of the bunch.
Have it, LOVE it. I tried so many saddles looking for just the right one and this one is it for me. It is really comfy on those long hauls. The only thing I don’t like about it is the fabric on the nose portion. It tends to chew up my cycling shorts pretty good. It’s kinda scratchy, but well worth it.
I seem to recall that Slowman reviewed it favorably. However, the saddle didn’t work for me. Too narrow in the rear. I’m about to ebay my used saddle. Three rides, less than 200 miles. Looks new. PM if you are interested.

Same here. Too narrow in the rear part. A few rides and I’m selling it.
I agree…and I didn’t like the constant swishing sound of my massive quads rubbing on the wide nose of the seat.
I put this seat on last night. I only rode 15 miles, but after a lot of tweeking, I found the correct position and I like it so far. Much, much better than the stock brick that came on my QR Caliente!
Got one, tried it on a 30-mile ride and it was fine…nothing incredible. Tried it on a 60-miler and nearly had to have a taint transplant. I was still hurting 24 hours after getting off the bike. My problems were;
- I like a wider rear for the few times that I sit upright to stretch my back or have a drink and that does NOT have a wide rear.
- It was my first saddle with a cutout and I found the edges of the cutout really put the pressure on the areas it was in contact with.
Fortunately, Edge Cyclesports let me return it.
I moved to a wider, flatter saddle with an indent by Serfas. That was MUCH better but still not ideal. I just bought a QR neoprene cover, and I’m also experimenting with a “comfort” saddle I bought from Performance. We’ll see which combo works the best.
I’ve been doing tris for 19 years and tried alot of saddles and the Profile is the most comfortable that I’ve ever used. Used it at IM Florida last year and felt great. Butt felt great and that was 112 miles of riding in the aero position.
Tried it on a 60-miler and nearly had to have a taint transplant.
Now how would one go about finding a suitable donor for such a procedure?
Organ donor, naturally.

I’m considering getting Board certification to start performing this procedure.
For me, the PD saddle is too firm in the nose padding.
I have ridden on one for about a year. I forget its there. It’s an absolute charm for the taint brother!
What more can ya want?
Mine is sitting on my workbench also. Guess I didn’t break it in long enough. The cut out and the seaming ruin me. I’m gonna try it again starting with shorter rides this season. Maybe I’ll take a hammer to it, break it in a little more.
