I ordered this long anticipated new bottle system which was delivered yesterday. Much to my surprise and disappointment, the mount does not adjust properly to fit the aerobars on my 2011 Cervelo P4. While the mount is adjustable, it does not adjust enough to fit…the bars are too narrow. The directions state the mount will fit bars that measure from 90mm to 120mm. The width of my bars (original and not modified) is around 75mm. I contacted Profile Design and sent them (requested) pictures. They were very helpful and are sending another type of mount that should work. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up if you have ordered this new bottle. Anyone else have the same problem?
Correction…width adjustment is 80-120mm.
Yes. I had the exact same problem. I was going to return the aero hc, but maybe I’ll try contacting PD first. Thanks for the post!
So the stated 90 mm fit wouldn’t go on a75mm span…
Was this a complete surprise to you? (
)
Anyhow good to know an alternate span clamp is available.
Now you have one can you confirm if it would fit into a standard bottle cage (of course one with arms from the side and a gap on the upper side to allow the fill and pipe neck to pass through…as its loaded
Cheers

Surprise, yes…since the 90-120mm fit requirement really isn’t stated anywhere when you read all the promotional information about the bottle. It is only stated in the instructions…which you obviously don’t get to read until you get the bottle. Will confirm how (if) the new mount works…should receive in a few days.
Added correction…fit requirement is “80”-120. Seems like a wide range but not enough, I guess.
That kinda blows, not hard to put that info on the web page…
Good share in that case cheers

Well, the instructions and on the website right here. I can see how you would miss it, being distracted by it’s giant penis-like appearance.
I swear it’s the triathlete equivalent of buying a Porsche. What is wrong with you people! Like prancing around in lycra isn’t enough?
Any follow up on this? Did you get the new mount?
It’s posts like these that reaffirm my decision to not tell anyone I train and race for triathlons. A) do a little research before dropping coin of you’re gonna bitch about it B) HTFU and zip tie a bottle cage there and go train more.

Yes, Profile Design customer service was great and I received the new mount…which does mount the bottle. Unfortunately, the two mounting bars are not really that aero so I ended up not using (the mount). The bottle, by itself, however, rests perfectly between my 75mm aerobars so I ended up putting a strip of velcro on each bar and two matching strips on the bottle and it works perfect…and probably more aero than the original mount. I used at the TriRock Philadelphia OLY and it worked fine…and looks good.
ps…to thirstygreek…my original post was not a bitch…there has been a lot of talk and anticipation about this bottle…just wanted to let other ST’rs about the potential problem if they are not sure about their aerobar spacing. Also, appreciate the tip to train more but since I just earned my pro card…I think I’ll stick to my current regimen.
