OK - I have a Profile Areo Drink bracket for my Profile clip on’s and the Aqualite bottle. I have looked at the instructions and they are quite confusing. The pictures stink also. I can’t figure out how to mount it without it moving around. Anyone shed some light on this - maybe some pics of how yours was mounted on your bike? Sorry for such a basic question but I just don’t want to mess it up or look stupid with it mounted wrong.
I had mine move around a lot so I got a few black zip-ties and used them instead of the velcro. Its now super tight and doesn’t move AT ALL. If the movement bothers you, go with the zip ties.
The velcro is next to useless in my experience. You should have received two large black rubber bands. Put these around the bottle and loop over your bars and they do the majority of the work (zip ties sound good too!).
All I did was just basically jump in and do it… the small velcro squares I put on both sides of the bracket (where they touch the clip on bars) - then mounted the matching velcro strips on the clip on bars - with the strips is allows front back movement of bottle. Then the long double ended velcro I did one wrap on each side to keep it from moving (I assume this is where the others have used the zip ties instead). Didn’t use the front strap that came with the bracket. Inserted the bottle, used the velcro strap closure that came with the bottle for the front bracket strap. That is how its pictured - I still have to put the rubber bands around the bottle on each side to finish holding it in place.
The instructions stink… after talking with everyone - it is easier to just jump in and just install it.
take the longer velcro strips with the sticky backing, and stick them to your bars, long side of the vecro runs from the front of your bike to the back.
the short velcro strips with the sticky backing attach to the underside of the bracket where it sits on your bars.
The long velcro strips with no sticky backing thread through the bracket arms (above where you’ve stuck the short strips in step 2), and cinch around the aero bars. They are best thrown out and replaced with 4" black zip ties.
The remaining thin velcro strip is used to prevent the bottle from sliding out the front of the bracket. It is an engineering abomination and should be used as a warning to industrial designers everywhere. You have to insert the strap from one side of the bracket through both small slits (much more of a PITA when the bottle is in the bracket), then leave equal lengths exposed on either side of the bracket. Each exposed side of the strap is then folded towards the middle of the bracket and hooks on to its opposite member.
Solved this problem a different way that what I’ve seen described so far. There’s enough adhesive backed loop side velcro in the package that you can modify the front strap to work like it should. Here’s how I did it, images included:
