I bet sub 12:30.
Trisherri, this is the problem with the skin deep superficial North American cosmetic appearance culture. What is more important in this continent is what you look like rather than what you do, (both intellectually and athletically). We are obsessed with youth and looks. In eastern cultures, age and wisdom are more respected. Ryan Sutter did reasonably well at Vineman, and hats off to him for that. If he kicked ass cause he is a babe, then let’ just call triathlon a beauty pageant. Last time I checked, it was not.
Aside from this obervation, I wish him all the best in Hawaii. Either the WTC lets celebrities in or not. As long as they keep letting celebrities, in, this Ryan dude brings as much attention to the Ironman as anyone, so for that, he is a reasonable pick. He is also a legit athlete, and I wish him all the best, as an athlete. I could care less whether he kicked the ass of other models/actors.
Who’s Ryan Sutter?
Catch an Interview with Greg Welch and Ryan Sutter…Ironmanlive.com (Video and Audio section)
He should have to qualify! I’m tried of all the drama! That said, he’ll finish in 13:30 and get more air time than he should.
12:00-12:30
With one red rose at the finish…
Personally, I think it’s pretty ridiculous that he was invited to compete.
ROTFLMAO! That chick gets on my last nerves! She actually wanted to pick out china dishes that 3rd grade style hearts on them! Blahhhahahahahaha!
I say 12:00.
A rose at the finish…
hahahahahaha
Just reading Peter Reid’s journal today and came accross this little tidbit:
“2:30 - 3 PM: Pulled some strings and was able to register out of hours. Actually NBC pulled the strings because the interview lasted a lot longer than planned. Plus, they were running behind schedule because the Bachelor guy celebrity who is racing showed up an 1 1/2 late for his interview so all the pros interviews got bumped.”

You know, it didn’t really piss me as much as some other Slowtwitchers that this guy got an excemption to race… However, I thought I read in an interview that he was really aware of the fact that this is a HUGE honor and he really didn’t want to ruffle any feathers. However an hour and half late??? I could understand 15 minutes… Maybe even 30 but an hour and a half thus bumping the real athletes??? fo-get-a-bout-it!!! This guy is now added to my chump list.
But what you guys don’t seem to understand is that this guy is the Bachelor who got married! Don’t you know what that means? Do you realize??? That means he is capable of… well, getting married. So there. He not only deserves to race in Kona and push the pro interviews back, but he also deserves to be in magazines and have special interest stories. Afterall, he got married.
