Has anyone converted some USE Tula bars to praying mantis style?
I am in the process of doing some aero testing (Virtual elevation method) to check if this is beneficial for me with some bars that can be adjusted independant to the base bar.
If this is positive (and i can kick out power, which after some position intervals yesterday i think its still good), i am going to mock up some bars from copper tubing (ONLY to ride up and down a road for VE testing) before turning to something stiffer for actual racing…
Has anyone seen any bars that i could just pop into the Tulas to make them praying mantis or offer any advice (the Tula’s use 22.2mm bars)
I would try a set of the aluminum “J” bend 3T extension, but put the upturn part of the bars into the TULA housing. It won’t be adjustable, but it will get you steeper.
I’ve used both the USE Tula single bend stick (installed backwards) and the 3T W bend. Both get a very high hand position. Careful with the Tula sticks though, as there were a few that made it out that were very flexy (like not heat treated flexy). The USE importer was fantastic at quickly replacing these.
