I have had my pedals 4 weeks now. I have a Garmin 510 head unit. I keep getting “power meter error” on the Garmin with a random code.
When I called PT, they said it was due to the 510 being an older unit and PT has the left pedal as the master and Garmin with their pedals the right. They said the new head units don’t have this issue or occasionally as “right pedal missing” error. Has anyone had this issue? What head unit is everyone using with the pedals.
thanks.
Literally changed batteries in my pedals yesterday because i got ‘right side missing’ message more frequently. But when I would start pedaling there was no issue?? It read both left and right power without issues… I use 910xt. Anyone else?
I use a 910xt. Sometimes it gives me right pedal missing, but I have noticed the data seems fine. Even so, I usually rotate the pedals a couple times to make sure they are both turned on, then re-calibrate and the error goes away.
Probably an odd one here, but using the P1 with Polar V800 watch and the M450 bike computer. the P1 pedals have been fantastic with both units.
I get it because I always get on my bike on the left side first, at least that’s what I believe is happening. I just hit okay and move on. I haven’t yet had data only coming through on the left side only. I use a 520xt.
I called Garmin and I was 3 software updates behind on my 510. I also learned we should be using lithium batteries. Hopefully, those 2 will fix.
The “right pedal missing” message is a known bug with Garmin software (I’m on the latest software on my 810). However, it can be ignored as it doesn’t impact the data.

I have the P1 pedals and a Garmin 510. I occasionally get the “right pedal missing” error. But after I calibrate, it seems to work fine. I’ll get data from both. That is the only error I’ve gotten.
Hopefully Garmin will fix that issue at some point. While it doesn’t effect the data, it’s still disconcerting when I get that message.
