so i have this nice bike and a super cool power-tap. problem is, it looks like shit when i mount the wiring. anyone have any pics of a clean mounting they can send me (or tips on making it look good). it always comes out looking sloppy when i do it.
i have been chewing this in my head for a while as i too hate to spoil the aesthetics of the frame with wires running all over.
currently i have the pt receiver high on the seat stay, the wire to the head unit runs right up the brake cable and along the underside of the toptube…(you can use heat shrink tubing to attach it to the brake cable housing front and rear if you cut and resolder the wires)…from there you can run it to where you’d like the head unit. in addition, at the moment i have the wire secured at the rear end of the top tube with some red electrical tape that closely matches my frame colour, and the same at the front.
i cut off the cadence sensor as it is redundant and adds wires to the frame.
still not content with it entirely.
also there was a thread on this not long ago if you search for it. hope this helps.
Just saw in the USAT magazine that the wireless PT is now available. I, of course, have the pro–and the same wiring issues as you–along with frustration that the PT wiring is so flimsy.
