I know this is an old unit and discontinued, but I went to change my battery and when I insert the battery the light flashes a quick green and red light, but then nothing. It cannot be read by head unit or Garmin or anything. Has anybody else had this issue and found a solution, or id it just dead?
Perhaps the batteries are low, buy a new set of high end batteries and see what happens.
Another Powertap C1 user here. Never had any issues with it whatsoever.

This may not help, but I had a similar issue with a set of old Powertap P1 pedals. I even contacted SRAM (if I am remembering right), and after trying a few fixes, they told me the pedals were pretty much dead and could not be serviced.
I removed the batteries and set them aside for about a month, and then for some reason, I tried them again. They worked, and have been working without an issue for about 6 months now.
I know I need to replace them very soon, but at least I am still able to use them.
