Powermeter question

I just got a powertap and have done a couple rides so far, including one threshold test which should have given me a good idea of what my LT power is. Since I didn’t have it during any of my races this season I’m kinda curious what a given time on a 40k course would translate to. Is there a forumla that would tell me what power it would take to generate a certain time?

I checked out analyticcycling.com and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for.

Hi,
Thanks for the response.
I’m about 6" 190, my bike probably weighs about 20lbs. A pretty aggressive TT position, though I’ve got more or less a swimmers build. Bigger upper body. My last tri 40k was about 1:04 at about sea level. Pretty dry, no more than 20% humidity. Mostly flat with one major climb of about 400ft in 1 mile. The wind was about 10mph, more or less straight on for what was basically an out and back course.

Oh yeah, no race wheels. shimano 540s

Start was 7:30 I think, ws on the bike around 8 or so.

Thanks for all your help.

No, I didn’t have the PM then, that’s what I’m trying to backwards calculate based on time:)
Just got the PM and am trying to reconcile recently tested FTP after 1month layoff with my performance in june.

Thanks a lot. That figures pretty close to what I thought.
Next couple tri’s will be real interesting with power:) Just need an aero cover for my wheel now.
