Powerman Alabama Weekend, something for everyone!

Mark your calendars now for March 27th and 28th… Changes with administration in the City of Birmingham have once again sent Team Magic searching for a new location to keep the Powerman Alabama tradition alive. The new location is Oak Mountain State Park, just south of downtown Birmingham. Team Magic chose this location based on a positive history with the long-running Buster Britton Memorial Triathlon and close proximity to metropolitan Birmingham.**** **** Top billing for the weekend events will be the USA Triathlon Elite Duathlon National Championship. The race will go the Powerman Alabama Distance of 10k/60k/10k and offer a $5,000 cash purse. The Elite Race will be held as a stand-alone event on Saturday. With its’ nationally acclaimed off-road trails, Oak Mountain State Park opens the door for the addition of our **new XTERRA Off-Road ** **** Duathlon and XTERRA Trail Run to be held on Saturday along with the PowerKids Duathlon and Elite Race. The Powerman Alabama Duathlon Amateur Race (10k/60k/10k,) the NEW Team Magic Signature Duathlon (5k/40k/5k) and the Double Oak Duathlon (2.5k/20k/2.5k) will all take place on Sunday morning. Online registration and complete event details will be available at www.team-magic.com soon.

You guys always do a great job and I’m looking forward to the new venue!

Just curious…is this still a Powerman race on the Powerman series? I was thinking of the Duathlon Nationals but this looks like it could be a better option for me cost wise.

Yes, it is a Powerman Series Event

What about driving down from Indiana? Is it worth it? I’ll probably get my butt handed to me with the hills but it looks like fun!

It would definitely be worth driving down for. Indiana isn’t too far off. Easy drive and well worth the time. You might even get a nice warm day out of the deal.
Team Magic events are professionally organized and a lot of fun.

I’ve done the drive several times…not a bad drive at all and I love the Birmingham area!
