After a lay off from November till end of March I decided I wanted to try and do at least somewhat regular bike tests to help guide me in my training. I do the tests with my powertap while riding on rollers.
I am planning on racing an Olympic in September and a HIM in November. My question? Should I be looking to have my FTP within a certain percentage range of my 5 min power. I am using Monods CP protocol and using a 5min test and 2 days later a 20min test.
My 60min CP is about 80% of my 5 min CP. Is that about normal or does that sound like I am lacking in my 60min power and should be working with more of a focus on Longer FTP type intervals and endurance.
I am not sure if any of this makes sense and I am over thinking something that I obviously do not know much about. If that is indeed the case, I do apologise. I look forward to any help.

I wouldn’t worry too much about what they are in relation to each other. For the races you are doing I’d be riding as long as possible at this point, and focus on intensity closer to race time.
