I have to spend the next week in Baltimore, then Dallas at trade shows. Can anyone help me out with a place to swim in the downtown area of each city?
In Dallas, your best bets are either the downtown YMCA or the Baylor Tom Landry Center. Not sure what their situations are as far as temporary memberships but both have 25m indoor pools. Might also check the Texas Club. I think they have a pool, but am not 100% on that. Good luck.
In Baltimore, the Merritt gyms do guest passes I believe, can’t remember the price though. There are a couple situated near downtown.
University of Maryland New Rec center is your closest option…its about 3 blocks from convention center, i assume you will be there for the trade show? anyway, not sure they allow guests w/o a member/student though…this is website

other option is a short walk around inner harbor to MAC Wellness which is in harbor east. I used to be a member/swim here; they got a nice pool (salt water), gym, and facilities. masters group workouts are open and are usually tues/thurs at 530.

Merritt Athletic as prev mentioned is another option, but they are lengthy walks to either Canton or Fed Hill/Locust Pt. locations.
texas club does have an indoor pool - on the 10th floor or thereabouts, but it’s pretty short. 19 or 20 yds.
Downtown YMCA is probably the easiest to get into for a one-time swim.

Theres also the downtown location, which is really midtown. It’s at the intersection of Centre and Calvert I believe.
Thanks for the help.
We stayed at the Fairmont in downtown Dallas last weekend. T. Boone Pickens YMCA on Akard St (right next to the hotel) allowed me to swim without charge after showing my PA YMCA membership card. I also think they’d be willing to accommodate you with a day pass for small or no fee. The 2nd floor pool appeared to be 6 or 7 lanes x 25 yds. I had a lane to myself on Saturday afternoon. Very friendly folks - recommended if you’re in the area. Good luck. Jim B.

Also the Fairmont has a pretty nice pool. Not a lap pool, no lane lines and I’m not sure how long, looks to be about 35-40 yards but it’s nice.
