Will be in Auburn, Ca. over the Memorial Day weekend. Any decent pools open to the public? Doesn’t sound like open water is an option right now with runoff etc.
Thanks in advance

Check the Auburn Racquet Club first. Down HWY 80 towards Sacramento about 15 minutes you can do the Sat. Rocklin Masters workout (7-9a) @ Sierra College. Monday workout is 5-7:30 a.
I go to the Courthouse Athletic Club. Nice large pool!! Just swam two miles there yesterday. Of Bell Road in Auburn.

Not sure what the lake I live on temp will be. Since I stop by club membership this month, it had better warm up fast since I will need to start swimming in it that weekend. If the weather warms up, and the lake warms up quickly since shallow.
If you want to swim in Lake of the Pines, give me a call and I can call you in.
This is half way between auburn and grass valley off Hwy 49.
Nice clean water with no logs. :o)

The saturday workouts are at 8 now.
Good group to swim with and the Saturday practice is awesome.
Good idea to call to make sure they are still having practice on Memorial day as they have been know to cancel holiday weekend practice at the last minute.
H2ofun: Don’t you swim in the LOP Pool? How about that LOP tri on Labor Day. I live in Lake Wildwood and definitely will be doing the race. We should hold an informal race/workout tri @ Lake Wildwood in the summer and invite some fellow local twitchers to sample our version of Lake Livin’.
They tore up the LOP pool last September to put in a new one and it is not done yet. I always swim off my back dock which is right across from the pool. I would rather swim in open water.
I used to be co race director for the LOP tri. But, since I do not agree with the current RD’s attitude toward safety and USAT rules, I quit. I hope to do the race this year. Last year I was still recovering from my broken collar bone.
Why did you stop your Tri? I did it a few years back and then it stopped. You have some real good hills.
Yes, it shall be interesting to meet slowtwitch folks are races. I now always have my flower at the bike rack, and wear my gilligans hat. Going to the TBF for real race in June?

I’m looking for a pool in the Auburn area tomorrow…couldn’t find anything online that wasn’t a closed outdoor pool. The only pool I could find that is open is the Racquet Club, but it’s available only to members. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Yep, I live at LOP. Getting together would be cool. I did one of my first tris at lake wildwood when they had them. My kids swam for years at your pool for the swim meets. We even have relatives at LWW I believe.
The LOP pool open next week. They just put a new one in at Beer river high school and they are hoping to also open for a master swim very soon. I know my Dad is going to start swimming there. Let me know a date, and if I am not racing, would love to come over. LOP has there open water swim on July 1st. I can not do this year since I will be at nationals the day before and no way can get home that fast driving.

Sunday, tough. The LOP pool does not open until Tuesday. Sierra college masters is on Sat morning. Got your wet suit? We can take a cold water practice swim in my backyard.
I need to try my new T1 suit out before Icebreaker on the 11th, so going to have to jump into the lake soon.
So, in the future, give me a call if you are around again and can swim here, or take you on my hilly auburn tri bike course. I am going to do that tomorrow after lunch
since I am helping at the TBF xterra tomorrow morning.
Dave
Thanks, will do. I think I’m going to try my luck at the Racquet Club tomorrow for the swim. Planning on biking up Mosquito Ridge Rd from Auburn, too. Should be a lot of fun.
