POLL: How many miles do you get out of your Asics Kayano's?

If you run in Kayano’s post your typical mileage before you buy new ones & your weight. I’m running in my first pair and just wondering how many miles people get out of their shoes.

I’m at about 320miles.

I’ve run in Kayanos since '95. Have usually been able to put 450 - 500 miles on them. I weigh 202 lbs, but have ranged from 190 to 220 lbs over the past 10 years. Currently on my 2nd pair of Kayano 11’s. Have about 375 miles on them. Think I can put another 100 or so on them. Did just buy a 3rd pair so I’ll have some pretty fresh shoes when I run the White Rock Marathon on Dec. 11. John L

I’m 145 lbs. and usually do about 500 miles in them. The soles seem to go before the cushioning does for me though; I run mostly on asphalt.

I had replaced mine at 350-400. I’m 160lbs and pretty darn slow. Most of the milage was on pavement.

I second the comment about the soles going before the padding.

About mid-way through last year I switched to the DS Trainer. I like them a lot more (lighter)…

I’m 150-155lbs and I run mine about 500 miles. If they weren’t so expensive I’d probably replace them after 350.

I’m 165 lbs, and I replace them every 300-350 miles. I’m sure I could squeeze a bit more mileage out of them, but I view it as cheap insurance. In the 3 years since I started doing this I haven’t had a single running injury.

Seems like 500miles is about the max here. I always tend to keep my shoes longer than I should so I’ll have to make a mental note to watch for any changes in the next 100 or so miles. Thanks.

Kayanos’s wear out?!

I just buy new ones if I like the latest colours better. The old ones are then good for rock climbing, yardwork, kicking the dog etc for many years afterwards. I think I bought my current ones before a marathon in 2003. They’ve also done a couple of slow Half IMs and an even slower IM since then. I’m about 90kg (200 pound), prone to injuries when not wearing kayanos and also a tight-arse bastard.

Only rich kids replace shoes after 500km

500 on my first pair but I probably could have gone farther. I’m only 145lbs.

I’ve got 400 on my second pair and they still look to be in good shape despite all of the trail running I’ve been doing in them.
