I noticed that Asics was the most popular shoe/brand when a poll was posted here on ST.

Which Asics shoe/model is everybody wearing?

I train in GT-2110’s which are a very old model, but they work for me. Don’t know what I am going to do when my last pair wears out
10K or less I use DS-racers
Anything longer I use Speedstars.

I have three pairs of 2160’s and another pair of 2170’s that I rotate through. I also have a pair of Gel Phoenix’s that became my favorite pair over the 2160’s last year.

Also I have a pair of Kayano’s but I don’t really like them and a few extra pairs of the above in waiting. I’m a shoe hoarder.

I have the 2160’s marked with a marker so I always get the correct mate, but one day I still ended up with two left shoes when I went to the gym after work lol.

I need to try to find some more of the Phoenix’s because they are about worn out, plus I like the color.

Previos to finding the 2160 series I wore motion control shoes for the longest time because I have fairly flat feet. Everytime I would get a new pair it would suck getting my feet used to them. Then one day I found some Asics on super cleareance and they have always been great right out of the box.

i like the older DS trainers & try to stick with the “lightweight trainer” category when i go to mizuno/saucony which are my other preferred brands.

I have a neutral foot so let me start there: KSwiss Blade for short course and then Asics Gel Nimbus 14 for long course racing.

I just had my first run in my new NoosaFASTs. I honestly think I prefer Kinvaras, but I’ve been wearing them for years. If I haven’t warmed up to the Asics by the time the Kinvara 4s come out, I’ll switch back.

Brooks Ghost. Looking to get a Hoka Stinson (think that’s it) for 21K+ races and see if that fixes the hip issue but I’ll likely always wear brooks.

On the Asics website it says that Andy Potts trains in Kayano’s.

Does anybody think he really wears this sneaker? Just seems like a lot of shoe.

Also wear: Mizuno Mushas, Saucony Progrid Mirages (the first model was my favorite. Currently have the 3rd model and don’t like it very much), Saucony Fastwitch (Don’t like these much either because they are too narrow for my feet)

Gel Kinsei Mosaic, ugliest shoe ever made - easy to find after the dog hauls one of them away though!
