Polar wearlink battery change?

has anyone done this yet? Mine died today and I was trying to change the battery but couldn’t get the battery compartment open. I turned the little disc to the open slot but couldn’t get it to come off. Can someone help me out? Thanks in advance.

either get a thin razor and pry the battery compartment door off, or I usually hit it against my hand or (my void warrantee:) drop it on the ground and the compartment cover pops right off. Funny, my first strap lasted 2 years without a battery change then one day it just died, new battery didn’t help, it’s just dead. Lasted a good while though and it sure is more comfy than the older type straps.

Once you turn it to the open position, you need to pry the cover up - it’s held snug by the o-ring. Don’t use aything sharp or you’ll kill the o-ring. I was able to get two fingernails under it and pull it up. Once open, good luck finding the right battery, none of my local stores had it, so I went to ebatts.com. If the o-ring looks dry, you’ll want to relube it with some o-ring grease (special stuff - doesn’t eat the rubber.) if the o-ring has any nicks, replace it or it will leak.
