Polar RS800CX MULTI

has anyone tried it yet?
If so do you like it?

a better strategy would have been to create one thread, perhaps.

i am curious about the polar rs800cx as well, though.

Thanks… New to slowtwitch so I need all the help I can get!

I’ve got the RS800cx Run and love it. hit the start button three times to stop ure current workout, start a new one and combine the two into one workout (brick) great feature.

I’ll be getting the bike components to add on to it as well.

I think the RS800CX with GPS may be the way to go for racing purposes. You can swtich SPEED VIEW in the quick menu and not pause the watch. So when you are riding at mph, you transition off the bike, start running and do a quick menu to switch to min/mile. I do like the S3 footpod(stride sensor) to help work on running cadence. The running index with S3 does help chart progress or just the opposite, decline in performance. Google earth is kind of cool, I had a Central Park file to demo at the NYC Marathon.

The only thing about Polar is the software in the past has been atrocious. Is the software that goes with the watch better than the old 720 days?

All I can say is their is a reason why Olympic teams use PT5 software, and if Polar had permission to announce who uses our product you would never second guess the software. Polar and companies need permission to use the name, image etc of high profile TEAMS or individual athletes.

I think the Polar s/w is excellent - I don’t know what more one could need!

It’s all about our software and new Team2 system.

Our team software is different from the Protrainer 5 software but the foundation is still the same

.

The Polar software is OK, but TrainingPeaks supports Polar, and in my opinion their software is better. Particularly for triathletes.
