Polar problems with cateye wireless - and Vetto V100 too?

I have a cateye double wireless and have problems with my Polar, as commonly documented on this forum and elsewhere. Does a Vetta V100 wireless cadence have the same issues? Or should I just to back to my Astrale wired cadence and drill holes in my Kestrel Airfoil frame to run the wires internally?

(just kidding with the end of that last sentence…)

or, is there a new and improved fix for the cateye/polar problem?

I’m going back to wired cyclocomputers. I have 3 Vetta V100s, all of which have had same reliability issues. My only problem with wired is I won’t be doing cadence as my 3 bikes all have internal cable routing and I just can’t see running the wire for the cadence down the downtube with tape. Although I like having cadence set-up, I can now live without it. I have done a couple of races in which my V100 went out and I had nothing to gauge my effort off of except for my heart rate monitor. I believe I rode better without my cyclocomputer. So now I ignore it during a race and go by HR and rate of perceived exertion and that seems to work better for me. Now I need to decide on which wired system to go with.
