Polar Connectivity?

OK Full Disclosure - I’ve been a Polar Guy forever.

But getting tired now of the connectivity issues that keep coming up with the current iterations of Polar hardware and softwear. When it works well and everything from the wrist unit (Polar Vantage V2), to the Polar Flow app (mobile and Desk-top) - and a push to Strava, my H10 strap . . it’s absolutly brilliant.

However, every 6 months or so I have an issue where one thing won’t communicate with the other despite ALL trouble-shooting suggestions, and the whole eco-system kind of breaks down.

I’m in a breakdown period now. Chest strap won’t synch with wrist unit and wrist unit will not synch with mobile device. The only way anything get’s recorded now is a hard synch via the desktop! As noted - have tried EVERYTHING and still no connectevity!

Hi Steve, I was also having to sync my transmitters to my V3. I eventually did a factory reset on the watch and it helped pairing to the phone, transmitters etc.

Wayne,

Thanks Brother! I hope you are well!

Tried that - still can’t connect.

Uninstalled app on mobile device. Installed again. Tried again. Nothing.

At the moment watch can’t connect to my HR Strap ( fresh batteries) or my Mobile device.

Current only way to get data from the wrist unit after training, is via a hard synch to desktop with Polar Synch and getting the inaccurate HR from the wrist - which when you use a strap, you will know is terrible! Functional - but a pain and HR data is off! :grinning:

Full disclosure, I no longer work Polar  Steve, normally when you plug the watch into your computer and do a factory reset, and assign it back to your account, pairing to sensors, or removing pairings, and pair it again helps. Remove the sports profiles that are defaults, and maybe adjust your views per sports profile. Before my factory reset, I had to constantly pair my Wahoo chest strap and Polar Verity Sense. I also had insanely long downloads from the watch to my phone, now it is much improved.

Yup - I know.

I did a double factory re-set wriste unit. New batteries in HR Strap. (even though one in there was recently installed), and uninstalled, and installed back all sofware on mobile and desk-top. Now I THINK I am back running smoothly! :grinning:

Good to hear, it is amazing how a few minutes of resetting, removing, rebooting, can alleviate so much frustration, regardless of the brand.

I’ve had a ton of Polar watches and units over the years including the m400, m430, Vantage M and currently the Pacer Pro.

The older M400 and M430 worked just GREAT on any phone that I tried to sync with. It took only a few seconds to sync and it would happen automatically.
The newer Vantage M and Pacer Pro have never synced well. Most annoying is how the watch gets stuck syncing so that I cannot initiate new workouts - «please wait for sync to finish». The only consistent fix is to turn Bluetooth off on my phone which is annoying because I use several Bluetooth units during the day.

Polar syncing appears to have regressed over the years.
