PMP - Jargon Overload

I thought you had an offer?

Are you thinking of staying in a defense related industry or something completely different

A friend left the military 3 years ago, wanted nothing to do with defense, joined a big 4 and will be a director next year.

It was / is probably the wildest career transition I’ve personally seen. Army to private equity 🤣, the point being he did not take a pay cut and his view was he’d done his ~20 years and didn’t want to be the old bloke reminiscing about those were the days and he’s got a great job

I have a contingent offer, based on the company winning federal contract. That opportunity has been delayed at least 3 months, so I’m still looking. Booz has some opportunities, and I have two federal jobs that I’m being recruited for. We’ll see.

This course is nonsense. Someone has decided to define these business/project terms in direct opposition to their plain English definitions. This morning, we’re talking about Risk. One of the categories of Risk is “Opportunities.”

So despite Risk being plainly defined in English as possibility of loss or injury, peril, hazard, danger, etc., we’re now supposed to consider the possibility of a positive outcome as a category of risk.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.
