Please Vote Me Onto the Team

Dear Triathlete,

I need your vote.

I am currently in the running for an extraordinary sponsorship for the www.EvoTri.com triathlon team. It’s a unique team that places professional triathletes and age-groupers side-by-side to train like a professional with sponsorship gear from BMC Bikes, Zipp Wheels, 2XU, and others.

But to get onto the team I must get your vote.

To vote please send an email to: vote@EvoTri.com and put my blog address as the subject: www.TriBoomer.com
You can vote once with each unique email address you have. So, if you have an email address for work, one for home, and one for who-knows-what you can vote three times.

I have written a short post as to why I want to be on the team at www.TriBoomer.com

Also, please forward this email with a not to introduction to everyone you know. Each vote will allow me to continue to raise money to fight cancer.

Sincerely,

Brian

How does “professional” level triathlon equipment help you to achieve your goal of raising $1,000,000 for cancer?

Great Question.

By being voted onto the team helps me reach the fund raising goal in two ways:

  1. The sponsorship gives exposure to the cause. It’s anticipated much attention will be gained by the team as it races throughout the country.

  2. As the team grows it is likely they will choose an official charity, such as The American Cancer Society, and a portion of the sponsorship dollars will go to the charity or charities.

To vote please go to vote@evotro.com and put www.TriBommer.blogspot.com in the message field.

Cheers!

Brian

Thanks to all of you who have emailed me to say you have voted at vote@evotri.com Be sure to put www.TriBoomer.com in the Subject field of the email.

Please keep them coming!

Cheers!

Another good question.

The marquis race for EvoTri in 2008 is Ironman Steelhead 70.3

It’s a fab course in a fun part of the midwest.

Cheers!

Just so you know you may be disqualified for not following the instructions correctly on the contest code email.
.

What do you mean Royz? I’m all about making the votes count.

Brian

Team Evotri would like to thank you again for your application for the Making the Team: 2008 contest! Below, as well as in the enclosed attachment, please find the code you’ll need to insert in its entirety into your Making the Team: 2008-entitled contest post. Voting will begin March 15th and will close on March 21st at 11:59 PM PST.
If you are one of the three finalists who receive the most votes, your web site will be featured on Evotri.com, and you will be called by the team on Saturday, March 22, for an interview regarding your vision for an endurance sport community event, either real or virtual. Please reply to this email with a phone number where you can be reached on this day should you be one of the three finalists.
Thank you, and good luck!

You edited the script on your site. Just saying that it is not in its entirety and you may be cut out of the competition. Dont get me wrong it is not a personal attack or anything. Just a friendly FYI.

I made a similar mistake when I forgot to tell my voters to add “round 2” to their votes in the last round. It may have cost me the competition because the email screening process is not perfect.

Thanks for the FYI. I will make the ajustments ASAP.

So, not only did you abrogate the rules by not posting the full text of whateveritis, you are also encouraging vote-stuffing? The caption I read through canadiantri's blog said "Please vote only once", not "Hey, vote with as many email addresses as you've got!"

LOL, c’mon give him a break … He is just trying to get the upper hand.

You could say the same thing about drafters, as well. Just trying to get the upper hand.

If you can’t play by the rules, you don’t deserve to win.

OK, OK point taken … I agree with that one…

I didn’t see anything on the EvoTri website that mentioned you can’t vote with different e-mail addresses. Telling people that you can, is just a strategy of someone that wants to win.

Kudos to TriBoomer for picking up on it.

My vote is going to Commodore (as it did last time around), but you can’t harbor any ill thoughts about a guy doing whatever he can to win (while within the rules, too!).

I did the vote as many times as you can thing last time, and got burnt because they sifted through and only counted each person once, so I thought I would save everyone the trouble and keep it to one from the start.
I’m sure people will still try and vote more than once (cause they are awesome!) but they probably won’t count.
