or something else?

Note: I use the ISM Adamo and it has helped a lot, but my penis still goes numb from time to time while aero. I worry about my penis and I want it to stay safe and erect when needed. What is the best saddle to ensure my penis doesn’t go limp and floppy at important moments in the future?

Formaldehyde.

All Three of them are good and will help with your issue. I use the SELLE SMP myself.

  • for the SMP, as i have two, one on the tri bike and one on the roadie
also worth looking at: Selle Italia Signo Gel Flow, which i have on my commuter
    .

V-Flow has a 180 return policy. If your junk don’t like it you can send it back, the seat, not your unit - you’re stuck with that.

I have the Adamo Road, and bought it, of course, for the same reasons!!! I would actually worry about the longterm wellbeing of my weeny on long rides. Sit on the Adamo as directed by Cobb, and it should do the trick! I have the Adamo on my race bike, perfect, and unfortunately I still have a standard tri designed selle italia on my training bike, youch!

I’m afraid of the Selle Italia. It looks like when I slide way forward to get nice and aero that I’m going to slide off the front. It would be great on my road bike though.

I have the V-flow myself, but have to believe that the Adamo is the best for your beloved man-tool.

Irregardless of the saddle, THE most important thing is to get out of the saddle, once every mile. This tip came from a guy who has done RAAM. Certainly not a newb.

Put another way. If you weld yourself to the saddle for two hours, again irregardless of the saddle, you will be numb down below.

“Irregardless of the saddle”

uncle phil? a little help here?

oh boy…here it comes…another rant on the difference between regardless and irrespective.

Considering the different levels of HTFU employed by folk around here.

When would we consider that lasting damage is being done to the junk?

What are the symptoms we are looking for here?

Numb Junk? Junk retreating inward like a hibernating squirrel? Swollen bruising and pustules? (the last two were jokes)

this,

I tried both the max and plus, ended up with the plus, I like the longer saddle/nose and the narrow nose… excellent customer service too.

Can’t comment on the Flow, haven’t ridden on it. I have several SMP’s (tri, road, commuter), been ridding them for 3 years, I can do 100 mile rides without any discomfort. I’ve heard great things about the Adamo, my buddy has two and last weekend let me try one. I wanted to see if all the hype was true…will leave at “I staying with the SMP”.

I just gotta say getting used to the Adamo is just like early season riding . . .You are gonna be a bit sore for the first few rides, but just saddle sore . . .you’ll still feel your nuts (if you want lol)

I LOVE my Cobb MAX and so does my unit!

The Adamo Race is my fav though I haven’t ridden the Cobb saddles. It took a few rides to get used to, and after watching the video and tweaking with it for about a week it worked perfectly. No more numbness in my man parts (even after 3 hour rides). Of course my tri/cycling shorts always try a circumcision-reversal, but that’s a whole 'nother thread. Good luck!

Riding comfort is not always about the saddle, but rather how you ride it. You have to get the pressure off non-load bearing capable points and put it where it can be sustained. For a road bike this means the weight needs to go on your sit-bones. When you are in the aero position it needs to be on your pelvis to one side or other of your gear. Basically you ride slightly offset with your gear hanging to the right or left. My favorite saddle for this was the Fizik Arione Tri because the nose was narrow and surprisingly padded. The alternative is trying the Adamo, but IMO the prongs were too close together. If he could make a saddle with adjustable prongs (for width) then I would try it again.

V-Flow MAX- Adamo is too short at least for me given my bike fit. The V Flow Max is about 2 cm shorter than a typical tri saddle the Adamo is about 4 cm shorter.

Installed the Cobb V-Flow Plus this morning and followed up the install with an hour on the trainer. Very nice ride, the trainer is usually tough for me to “sit still” for any length of time. An hour this morning was without question easy.

I have an Adamo and it definitely prevents the sleepy junk. After a long ride, I find it a little tough to run right off the bike. The pressure down on the adductors (or whatever is being compromised) makes that difficult. I had the original Blackwell flow and could run great off the bike, but my genitals didn’t like it. I plan on getting the MAX. The return policy makes this even more appealing. Psycholist made the switch from the Adamo to the MAX and loves his MAX.
