Just looking for a sizing comparison between ASICS and Mizuno. I currently wear Kayano 13s but I’m not happy with them. So, I’d like to try a pair of Mizunos, probably the Nirvana 3s.
Currently wear a size 9 in the ASICS. I’m assuming that I should try a 9 in the Mizunos. . .problem is I’m on a ship right now and can’t try 'em on, so mail order, here I come.
If anyone has experiences with going from the Kayanos to the Nirvanas please let me know.
Ha! You’re in luck. I switched from Kayanos to the Wave Nirvana myself. Just checked, mine are both US size 13, but interestingly I just noticed the Asics are Euro size 48 and the Mizunos are size 47 1/3 so I guess the Mizunos are a touch smaller.
Anyway, I wore Kayano’s for years…i had the 9’s, 10’s and 11’s. I didn’t like the Kayano 12’s and went to Mizuno Wave Nirvana 2’s. Now have the Nirvana 3’s.
Love 'em. Very good shoe. the cushioning seems to last a bit longer then the Asics…I only got about 250-300 miles out of my Kayanos (I’m 187 lbs, so no lightweight), am over 300 in my Nirvana’s and they still feel good.
I think you can go straight down their shoe line on this. I wear Nimbus 11 and pre 2007 Cumulus in size 11 and Trainers 11, and I wear Mizuno Waverider in size 11, and Wave Creation in size 11.
The only wiered in the line I would be afraid of right now is the new Cumulus which is short.
Mizunos run a 1/2 size bigger than other running shoes. So if you were a 9 in a regular shoe, you will most likely be a 9.5 in Mizunos. I wear a 10.5 in Asics and an 11 in Mizunos.
