Plantar fasciitis and non-running shoes

It had to happen and it finally did. I’ve joined the numerous masses with PF. I am now able to run as I changed from a neutral shoe (Ascis Novablast 4) with custom orthotics to a stability shoe (NB 860) and it’s made a nice difference. The problem is that I need something for everyday wear. The NB is not great for regular walking as I can feel the strain on the PF. I am wearing 15 yo pair of Keen Hiking shoes which have a great stiffness and allows me to work.

For those of you with or have had PF, what do you wear that is a non-running shoe? Both functional and stylish options would be great

thx

I use over the counter CurRex inserts in my non running shoes.

I use my custom molded orthotics in every pair of shoes all the time (except cycling shoes). Remove the soft insoles, and make sure I buy shoes with removable insoles.

Timberland shoes/boots are good for less formal work, traditional leather soled shoes for smarter work needs have the stiffness. Getting harder to find, but loakes/church still make them and of course they last a long time if you have a decent cobbler to resole them. Can also return to factory if you’ve not someone local.

Key for me is minimisng the times I wear no shoes around the house. That’s my downfall.

Kane footwear. Absolutely love mine. They are basically athletic looking crocs.

reddit says they r pure influencer bull shit

I just put gel insoles made for PF in my shoes. Well most of them: some don’t have the right height to fit the insoles in. For sandals, I wear Skechers sandals made for arch support.

Slip your feet in a pair and try it for yourself.

I make sure to have high arches insoles in every shoe that I use. For run and bike shoes I have custom insoles.
Also, lately I’ve been liking a lot the Hoka Clifton in the casual/leather style.
I’ve also bought slippers to use at home with a little support for the arches and the same for flip flops at the pool (I got used to the two versions of Hoka slides but there’s plenty of other alternatives. Birkenstock are also a good idea).
