Looks nice, I really liked my Exocet, if only it had fit.
It kind of surprises me they went with the rear brake behind the seat and not underneath by the bottom bracket. I thought it was becoming pretty standard to put the rear brake underneath now.
edit: referring to their new TT frame
And the Planet X USA site has a big banner on the home page for Black Friday sales. 1 day only.
I am planning on a road frame and possibly a complete tri bike.
I loved the look of the last Exocet, I hope they offer the new one in something other than nude carbon. The current Black with subdued graphics is so stealth, it’s great!
Not aero

Not aero
How do you know?
How do you know whether a bike that hasn’t been released yet is aero or not? It sounds like they spent some time on R & D for this new batch of bikes.
Looks good.
Just comparing the Exocet 2 to my Exocet, the changes are incremental but good:
-Some changes to the rear seat stays where they meet the seat tube. That’s very good, because that’s where the biggest problem with the bike was IMO. It was too narrow back there, so you couldn’t use 23mm tires.
-New seatpost clamp mechanism
-Lower head tube? Don’t know the geometry but it has a dip from the top tube which does not otherwise exist. Could just be for…
-New shift cable routing. Shift cables behind the stem instead of on the downtube. The cable cover on the bottom bracket is new.
I agree with all the things you said. My main complaint with my Exocet was the narrow seat stays. All the improvements look to be actual improvements.
I think they could have run the cabling a bit better which would have been nice and yes I agree with the rear brake should have been moved to the underside of the chainstays.
Any word on the stack/reach of the Exocet 2? I would imagine they would keep it the same as the original Exocet.
Hopefully it’s just the photos but several of the bikes have a very unfinished look to the carbon. I know it’s not all about the ‘look’ but it’s hard to get past.
I was in the Rotherham store a couple of weeks ago when these prototypes had just arrived. The carbon was unfinished so they do show joints and lacked finish. Two key things I noticed were the horizontal rear drop outs on the back and there is a trap door in the bottom bracket to help with cable routing.
The delivery dates for the the exocett II should be out this week.
