Plan A or Plan B

Background: I am a reasonable IM and half IM type athlete (best 9:01 and 4:13) living in Australia. I have clocked up 3 months of paid Long Service Leave. As I am currently injured, and have nothing to do, I am trying to plan out my racing plans for next year. Opinions?

Plan A: Keep working as is. Race IM China or IM NZ and qualify for Kona again, and race Kona (after all, it was taken away from me this year via stress fracture last week). use LSL the year after to race in the States.

Plan B: Take LSL next year, go to the States in July/August, race as a pro in a couple halves and IMC. Come home and start work again.

I personally see the merits in both.

3 months of paid Long Service Leave

I gotta move to Australia!!

In regards to your two options, they both sound good. How much in need of a break will you be (waiting one year to use the leave)? Also with Plan B, would you also be planning to do Kona by qualifying at IMC?? If Kona is something that is really important to you, then I would say try and qualify next year, as you never know how many chances you will have (injuries, life changes, etc.)
