I’ve always had a Samsung with native ANT+ support. Lately I’ve been thinking of getting Pixel phone. Using my wife’s phone i added the ant radio service and the other ant app needed. I then used a usb to usbc adapter with the Garmin ANT+ usb dongle.
When loading trainerroad it says something about not detecting a dongle. I tried several adapters but no success.
The same Garmi dongle I use on my laptop without any issues. My laptop just sucks and isn’t always charged. So i load up TR on my phone.
Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I tried Zwift and TR for good measure and nothing.
I tried a few other older plugins but they didnt help either.
I use Trainnerroad on my phone with no issues using a Garmin Ant+ stick and a USB C to A adapter dongle. Got an older Android phone I’ve had for just over 4 years (Moto Z Play first gen) and it still works fine.
Is the dongle you bought a cheapo one? If you’re not careful some aren’t capable of supplying power to a device that draws it power source from the USB connection.
Ok usb service may have been the culprit. I say this for several reasons:
-Zwift reads ANT+
-There is an intermittent message that says “rssi information not available” at the bottom of the pairing screen that doesn’t go away. Tried two garmin usb and two usbc samsung adapters.
-when i installed the USB service app it says something about this is generally for older devices, but as evidenced above it helps with the “reading” of USB stick.
