Pirelli is a massive name in the motor racing scene, so are potentially a big puncher in the cycle market.
Has anybody seen/recorded crr or aero data on their tyres, or are we going solely from the PR spiel at this point?
I’m not aware of any data at the moment (and I’m always looking!) but I’d expect to see some results on the crr front soon. I think Jens has one and it probably won’t be long before BRR has one as well.
It looks like the Pirelli TT tire may be a new contender for top clincher: http://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/…-p-zero-velo-tt-2017. It edges out the Supersonic at a lighter weight, although durability may be a concern. Aerodynamics are also an unknown.
Huh? At the measured width (25mm on a narrow rim), I think I’d go for a Turbo Cotton over that (faster AND more durable)…or, just run a Corsa Speed (even faster, about the same durability) with either a latex tube or set up tubeless…
I used to have Specialized Turbo Cottons based off what your testing showed. I switched to 23mm front and 25mm rear Continental GP TT. Should I have stayed with the Turbo Cottons?

Probably…the GP TTs measure VERY wide (i.e. as much as 2mm wider than their ratings) and that’s not going to help the aero drag component…but then, you’ll have to believe I know what I’m talking about in regards to bike technology
Both have a puncture protection belt. The TT have slightly thinner rubber. I use a TT out back when its wet during tts, otherwise I use the Supersonics. Conti does something right with their rubber, their tires aren’t nearly as fragile as Michelin or especially the new Vittoria Corsa Speed.
