Had this for a couple of weeks now and did my first race on it yesterday, a 10 ml tt. My watts were below average and it was a windy day but I was only 5 sec off a pb at 19:13. It also tested favourably against my trinity at the track .
First impressions are very impressive (as they should be!), as well as out right speed comfort, braking and handling are all good enough to use it as your daily ride.
What’s the best bottle placement for that bike? My reservation with the integrated bar setup is a between-the-bars bottle positioning is now in clean air and doesn’t obstruct a stem behind, therefore less “benefit”.
I weigh it later and also try and post a pic of bottle mount later.
Basically the down tube is flared into a kam tail near the bottom with three bottle bolts to aid placement. I ran it yesterday with the elite crono bottle on the bottom two which it appears to have been developed for as it follows the line of it perfectly
A few questions: Is there any data out there comparing this frame to other superbikes? Are those osymetric chainrings? I haven’t seen that shape before. How do they work for you? How do they affect FD shifting? What is the effective STA on the bike?, looks sort of slack. What is the purpose of the forward sweep of the front fork? And how durable do the fairings seem that cover your front and rear brakes? I wonder, if someone is riding this frame 10-15 years from now, whether those covers/fairings will be available as replacement parts? (not that you would know that, likely replacement covers won’t be avail. … ).

How much different? Also, what tires are you using?
Clean setup… no wires or cables in the wind at all.
At worst it was 3w better which in all honesty would be within the margin of error for field testing at best 13w. The main take away was that it was quicker every run.

I’ve not seen an official data on the bolide and I’m not sure you will. Sky controlled the sales rights for this bike for the first 6 mths so may well have control of the data. The front fork I’m told creates negative drag (I imagine this is ridiculously yaw dependent), it’s been carried over to the F8 dogma as jaguar couldn’t improve on it.
Seat tube is 77deg. I’m 30mm behind center bb.
chainrings are osymetric, I like the feel of them but I’m not convinced by the usual power gains. Recovery seems better though Imho. Shifting with di2 is perfect with them, I expected trouble here but on both this and my canyon it’s been faultless, way more reliable than on my trinity or my old graal.
Nose cones seem reasonably robust. Not sure as you’d need to take them off that often tbh.
watching Paris-Nice today and noticed Richie Porte’s arbor extensions. Do you know if there are aftermarket extensions available from Pinarello and what diameter extensions the Bolide takes?
Awesome bike! Probably my favorite machine out there…I’d take it over any superbike as well. Sick time for 10 mile tt too. You ain’t bragging imo (check out the swim threads for that…lol).
Seriously though man, you couldn’t have put together a better bike imo.
(ditto), great looking kit. I’ve been wanting to talk Pinarello for a while but not too much on here. I am riding my Pinarello road bike for the past couple of weeks & it’s been fun.
I’ll have to check the measurements. My road bike has the rear wheel tucked in and the wheelbase is pretty short - makes for nimble handling. Curious if they followed similar measurements on the TT bikes.
Veloflex tires - I have these as well on my Argon -great tires, but never hear much about them either.
I am using the Bolide as inspiration for my Guru901 build (the Canadian Pinarello). I have DI2, got a HED front (looking for a rear) and I plan to mold up some brake covers.

They’re 20mm at the clamp. Dont think pinarello offer any others. I’ve just had to have some 40 deg made after a trip to the tunnel. It also has a 58t carbon cr now in matching 1k weave
