I’m pleased to announce a new short distance off road tri at the Southwest Michigan Council of the Boy Scouts of America’s camp Rota-Kiwan in Kalamazoo on August 29th. We will also be utilizing the adjoining Al Sabo land preserve.
The “Physically Strong Triathlon” is in keeping with the Scout Oath as I’m sure most scouts would recognize.
Tentative distances of 500 yard swim, 7 mile off road bike, 5 k off road run.
The primary focus is middle and high school age participants but after a period of registration limited to those ages, I’ll open it up to older age groups. I’m also working up shorter distances for younger participants.
Of course - USAT and potentially another recognizeable tag is in the works.
