Peterborough Half Ironman ST Poserfest Rollcall

OK, bring it on…the Peterborough Half Ironman this coming weekend…looking at the long term forecast I am hoping for lots of wind, heat and humidity…who else is in? Last year Ted McGregor tried to lay the smack on me for the first 10K of the bike and used a variety of excuses after he crossed the line 90 minutes after the old man. I believe Allan Faulds is coming out of a temporary retirement to claim his rightful spot on top of the 40-44 podium. Itseazy will be trying to put down a “real time” to get the top amateur status…its not going to go to some pencilneck poser doing a lame 4:33 this year!

Good luck to all racers! I wish I were going. This was my first 1/2 IM and I love this race. I didn’t think I could handle it this year with LP coming up (my first IM). I’ll probably be there next year, though. Enjoy!!

Dev,

I’m hoping to finish my first HIM and get close to 5hrs total.

You’ll likely be passing my clydesdale ass on the second loop of the run

Please be kind and don’t yell at me like that fine lady cyclist at Muskoka

Really, thanks for all your posts in the past about training and the Peterborough course, I feel ready to go and having the chance to see some of you quick guys burn past me on the run will be great.

All the best this weekend, I hope it’s 20 degrees so i don’t have to chug a ton at each aid station!

Andrew

My first crack at HIM Sunday. Looking forward to it.

I’m doing the 1/2 IM duo
.

The Du? Afraid of the nasty stuff in Beavermead Lake?

I’ll be representin’ the BOP in the Half Tri.

Guru Crono - black w/ pink & silver flames. I’ll be the one smiling all day - I.LOVE.HILLS. Love.Them.

Dev, you are hereby banned…yes BANNED from using the word poser when it comes to any race you are in. Especially when you think 4:33 is a lame poser time. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m in!!

I’ll be there!
The weather forecast looks like we’ll have some nice “Kona North” conditions.
Hopefully I fair better than in St. Croix.
See you all Sunday!
Ian

It is a bit of a lame time for an overall amateur time, given the soft field from last year. Its going to be sub 4:15 this year once Itseazy crosses first!

Well if I finished with a 4:33 I may just retire right there!!

Itseazy is going to have to go much faster than that before he is allowed to retire. I’m thinking that the boy better post a sub 4:20 or he might have to return his Lucero to QROO

Dev,

Just and FYI. I will not be there this year to chase/pace you on the bike this year. The cottage beckons and I am looking forward to it.

Also, MissP will not be there as well( She’s racing at the National Road Cycling Chamionships this weekend) so there will be a new women’s champ for the first time in three years, which is good to see. Time to share the love!

Best wishes to all who are racing this weekend at the Peterborough 1/2.

This will be my first half and I am pumped! I hope to go around 5:15 - 5:30, but we’ll hafta wait and see how my body deals with the distance, weather and lack of experience… CAN’T WAIT!

Ultimate poser here;)

I’ll be there cheering not racing. I’ll be the guy standing around trying to make the last team feel good after they get reamed by the OAT Officials over nothing.

Have a great race for everyone!!!

I’m doing the 1/2, M40-44, praying for high heat, humidty and force 10 winds. New run course will be a welcome change. See ya on the beach.

Allan will be there. The 19 yr old ST poster formally known as Litespeed_Smith will be doing the bike leg as part of a team. He’s concentrating on road racing and TT’ing this year so look for a fast bike split. He might even be racing in Europe this coming season.

I’m in.

First race of the year off somewhat questionable preparation (is it possible to cram for a half in 4 weeks? … stay tuned). Based on my preparation this season, I’ll be quite happy with a 4:33. I’ll be camping in the park again and doing my annual “day after ride home” on Monday morning if all goes well on Sunday.

Are you camping again Dev?

While cheering, don’t forget to have my Diet Pepsi chilling on ice for when I finally finish!

Good luck to everyone racing! Current forecast is humid and windy. YES!

It is a bit of a lame time for an overall amateur time, given the soft field from last year.

What crack are you smoking? I know you are a humble guy and we love you for it, but 4:30 is a lame time!? Dev, I think you have been out of the MOP for too long to understand the difference between you FOP folks and the rest of us mortals.

Good luck to all this weekend.
