Pes Anserine Pain - No Swelling - Bike changes?

Been having pain in the Pes Anserine bursa area of the left knee since I started riding my tt bike again. No swelling at all, however the pain is almost exactly at that point. It mainly hurts in the mornings going down the stairs and can feel it occasionally during efforts on the TT bike. The other issue, which may or may not be related, is my left hip is super tight and some pain along the IT band area of that leg.

I read up a lot on Pes Anserine Bursitis on this site along with Google, but most that information is related to running/post surgical pain and associated with noticeable swelling. I don’t have any swelling, just pain and feel like it has to be related to fit. Without seeing my position, any things that jump out to consider/look at in my fit. I feel like perhaps I am sitting just a bit too low and potentially too far forward (or my arms are too far back). My fit was dialed in with Retul then relaxed a bit due to the back issues caused by the initial aggressive position. If I can, I will post a pic, but for now thought perhaps someone might throw out some things to look for in my fit that could be contributing to the issue.

Can’t comment on any fit-related cause, but I dealt with some persistent Pes Anserinus pain last year. It rarely bothered me on the bike, but on days when I did a hard bike followed by a swim it would really start to cause pain when doing flipturns.

I went and saw a Massage Therapist and that was pretty helpful. I also taped the area and worked on strengthening my adductors. I still don’t swim after a hard bike though, I’m paranoid about it flaring up again.

Just saw that for pes anserine pain and IT band issues, Andy Pruitt recommends lowering the seat 3-6mm. Perhaps I’ll give that a shot and see if it improves. I would have assumed I was too low, but perhaps being too high is actually the problem.

Statistical sample of 1: I had this two years ago, on one side only. I noticed the seat post on my TT bike had slipped down a bit. Moved it back up and the problem vanished.
