I’ve battled tendonitis in my Pes Anserine tendons (the group of three that wrap around the medial side of the knee from the back of the hamstring muscles) for years. Run, Bike or Swim it doesn’t matter…it all aggravates it to a certain degree. I have tried numerous strength programs, using the physio ball, weights, eccentric stuff, etc. and have had little or no luck. Most of the time, the strength programs just fuel the fire in my legs.
Has anyone had Pes Anserine tendonitis and found a cure for it?
I had a pretty painful case of pes anserine bursitis last summer. Is this the same thing? It hurt on the front part of my leg, just below and to the inside of the knee. I was almost in tears trying to ride my bicycle because of it but running didn’t hurt it that well. I injured it in a 12 hour mtb race…about 9 hours in it flared up and hurt like crazy! Went to the doc and he diagnosed it. I took two weeks off of training, was prescribed Celebrex, and did about 3-4 sessions of electro therapy. I also iced and used a heatpad like crazy. It went away in about a week and a half and has never come back. I’m not sure if this helps. Good luck!
