I have noticed lately on Training peaks Virtual in particular there always seems to be other riders that want to stay glued to your hip. I mean glued as in im doing a structured workout with intervals and the other rider stays right beside me. Im all in for group rides and great times but its annoying when your really pushing a hard session and trying to stay focused. Ive even stopped pedaling at times and it seems the other did as well. Kind of creepy I suppose. If Im doing a free ride I can usually just drop them but when following a training peaks workout I get stuck with them. Is this happening to others? Again, think the virtual platform and group rides are wonderful but there is a line in sand of being respectful to people you don’t know. Just my 0.02$
Don’t know tp virtual … But on zwift, if I don’t want to stop and chat to ask … I just teleport somewhere else.
I’m firmly in the camp of who cares. But I’m battle hardened from 25+ years of first person shooter multiplayer gaming where some 13 year old kills me, teabags my avatar, spews racist and homophobic epithets, and tells me he f’d my mom. So some spandex clad virtual avatar riding next to me is pleasant in comparison.

Are you sure that they’re actually “people?” Who knows what’s going on in the matrix?
They could be some manifestation of an algorithm that just says “do whatever this rider does, but with 0.5 second lag, and stay 3.7 meters behind and to the right at all times”
I could be wrong - I could also be a bot, for all we both know

This is silly. Its not like real life were they can clip you causiyou to wreck. If anything can be motivation to drop them on your interval. Zwift and tp do workouts with others on course, rouvy is all solo
Sounds like you are in virtual hell.
I’m kinda hoping this is some bizarre underground cycling swingers thing and this is how they communicate. Next time it happens, send them some cryptic, double entendre message and see if you get initiated into the club.

There are bots in TPV that ride (and train) in the world.
Ha… Haven’t played a first person shooter game in about 10 years, but I do recall all of this happening. I think they were more like 9 though.
