Peloton instructors make more than pro triathletes?

depends what model you use. i keep telling my buddy doing 350w average his damn bike is misconfigured cause i know he struggles to break 200 real watts.

So power is much higher on the Peloton. He puts on PowerTap pedals and they’re accurate. Hmm…Makes sense that my friend’s numbers were wildly inaccurate.

Well, the actual takeaway there is that it depends on which bike model. That post demonstrated that the newer Bike+ model is crazy accurate. Seriously, it’s more accurate than most smart bikes I test these days, and certainly more accurate than all but one or two trainers I test.

As for the original Peloton model, that’s less accurate. I find it tends to overshoot at higher wattages. Most people that have tested finds the original Peloton bike seems to be in the 5-10% range (off), though some are more accurate. Ultimately, that’s really no different than real-world accuracy of most wheel-on trainers people use (despite accuracy claims by manufs).
