I need a tri suit and this one looks to be a pretty good deal @ $160 on Amazon. Anyone have any experience with this suit? I believe this is the suit they say will reduce drag by 25 watts on the bike. If you are doing a Tri with a wetsuit do you just wear this underneath? Any knowledge on this suit?

yes- you just wear it underneath your wetsuit.

looks like a fine tri-suit. As far as a 25w reduction- uh, compared to what? Perhaps when compared to a half opened cycling shirt when riding at 50kph.
er… where’s the zipper? Personally- I like a front zipper for cooling and easy access to your junk for potty stops. Others prefer a rear zipper as it’s better for aero or hydrodynamics. This one doesn’t seem to have a zipper? That would mean that it’s very stretchy (which is great), and then even more aero, but harder to put on/take off for potty breaks. So- I’d use this one just for sprints. I like easy access to my manhood.
I’m looking for a tri speed suit as well, and I like PI stuff generally, but this speed suit is black (with no color options). Given that black absorbs sunlight, I think white would be better.
correction. Just found the ad in Triathlete- 8-12 watts at 30mph. The bathroom thing IS a bit concerning… Also, even with no wetsuit, this is designed to worn on the swim correct?

This fabric doesn’t absorb… google or search on here for cold black
FWIW, Pearl claims that their In-R-Cool fabric reflects sunrays, allowing you to stay cooler. Have no idea if their claim is accurate…as I said, FWIW.
I do have their SS Octane Tri Suit and I used it in a Sprint tri last year. Not very warm, only low 70’s maybe, but I had zero issues whatsoever.
yes- all tri suits are designed to be worn during the swim.
I haven’t read up on Inter-cool and how it works, but it’s certainly possible for a fabric to appear dark in the visible spectrum and pretty light (i.e. reflective) in the InfraRed. So it may be cooler than it looks.
Interesting… that’s pretty “cool” if it actually works.
I have this but not in the tri suit. I bought the 2 piece kit. I haven’t raced in it yet but have rode 60+miles in the shorts several times and they are great. Wore them for a long ride in the rain today with no issues. I got the black trusting the in-r-cool claims.
